Pelvic Health for Children and Teens
Pelvic issues are very common in children and teens. Any parent with a child suffering from bladder and bowel issues knows how drastically it can affect physical, mental and social health. As well as putting stress on the whole family. Pelvic health physio is extremely effective at treating:
Chronic Constipation
Daytime leakage of the Bowel and Bladder
Frequency/Urgency of the Bowel and Bladder
Toilet Refusal and Withholding
Chronic Urinary Tract Infections
Pelvic and Abdominal Pain
Bedwetting
Children do not leak on purpose. Often pelvic dysfunction is a complex interaction of many physical, social, and psychological factors. Lack of management early in life can lead to lifelong bladder and bowel dysfunction and have long-standing psychological and social effects. It is counter to current medical evidence to wait for children and teens to “grow out of it”.
Children with neurodivergence and developmental disabilities are welcome in our care.
We encourage collaboration with your child’s care team and will happily communicate with your GP, dietician, pediatric physio/occupational therapist, pediatric urologist/gastroenterologist and mental health care providers.
