Pregnancy and Postpartum
Often pregnancy/postpartum is the time people first become aware of the pelvic floor. Welcome!
Pelvic health physio has much to offer you during this phase of life. We are so happy to provide care in clinic, in-home and virtually to reduce barriers to access.
1. Preparing for Pregnancy/ Early Pregnancy
Let's be proactive. We can assess your pelvic floor and core to ensure healthy and normal function. If you have underlying pelvic conditions (incontinence, constipation, pelvic pain, prolapse etc.) we can start managing them to reduce exacerbation in pregnancy.
Become familiar with your pelvic floor so beneficial prehab and rehab exercises are no sweat down the line
Develop a relationship with your physio, so you have a comfortable and safe person to care for you during more vulnerable stages.
2. Pregnancy
Keeping your pelvic floor and core strong and flexible as baby grows
Support continued whole-body exercise and mobility for your and your baby’s health
Managing muscloskeletal pain and strain (pelvic girdle pain)

Preparing for a planned c-section and prepping for the possibility of an unplanned one
